Photon Technology International, Inc. PTI is a public corporation established in 1983 to develop and manufacture optical components for spectroscopic instrumentations. The focus has since been shifted on fluorescence and phosphorescence aspects of spectroscopy. PTI holds the honour of being the oldest independent fluorescence company in existence today.

Today PTI designs and manufactures a variety of scientific systems, which include turnkey spectrofluorometers, lifetime fluorometers, and fluorescence microscopy systems. PTI also offers a complete line of sub-assemblies and components referred to as Optical Building Blocks. OBB's include accessory items such as microscope illuminator and photometers, high-intensity light sources, nitrogen and dye lasers, tunable illuminators, monochromators, optical choppers, sample compartments, PMT housings, and ICCD cameras.
